All of the lights in my freezer and one light in the refrigerator went out, so I called KitchenAid to see if they could help. They diagnosed the issue over the phone stating that it was a bad control unit, but they wouldn't cover it under goodwill. Yes, I was just out of warranty, but paying 10k for a refrigerator and them not stepping up to repair an issue that they are obviously aware of is just the ultimate let down. To make matters worse, I emailed their corporate offices and did not even receive a response.

I bought this to replace the same one I bought in 2006. So much more expensive Sad old one they claimed could be thousands to fix. I love the new fingerprint less exterior. Ice water flow is also greatly improved. Disappointed in lighting. Really need to be brighter or have the ability to adjust.

Solid, attractive and dependable

We just remodeled a property that we are moving into and leaving our old residence of 26 years. The place we are leaving has a built in KitchenAid refrigerator that is also 26 years old. Have never experienced any issues with our unit which works just fine, so when we were shopping for appliances for the new location - KitchenAid came out on top of our search requirements. The new refrigerator looks great and works great. Would highly recommend this product.

Down for repairs with two weeks of delievery

My third and likely last Kitchenaide

I had a complete kitchenaide kitchen installed in my new house about 6 weeks ago. Third choosing all kitchenaide. Of the 4 appliances, 4 were defective to some degree. Dual Fuel range had a paint chip and the oven would not work. Microwave did not work. Dishwasher arrived damaged - twice. And now I've discovered the fridge had a leaky valve assembled that was slowly leaking water since it was installed and has damaged my new cabinets. 5 service calls in the first 5 weeks. 5 days off work as all the appointments were "sometime between 8-4". Oh, and when I asked about the damaged cabinets, I was told "go through your home insurance". Based on the deductible, I'm out more $$ for the repairs. This is by far the worst experience I've had with appliances, and it's not like they're the cheapest around. In my last house the oven died (after 5 years). After 12, yes 12, it still didn't work. i used to think kitchenaide meant quality, I no longer think that.

We bought this refrigerator for our new home and were excited to get a large one. We are all excellent cooks and depend on our appliances. We did not purchase the insurance plan and that was a mistake our part. We thought KitchenAid would make a quality product that we could depend on for 12 to 15 years. We were wrong! We now know the manufacturer can't always be depended on no matter how expensive the product is. In June we noticed it was noisy which went on for a week. We then checked the temperature on the read out at the top, then checked with our own thermometer and found it had been overheating. I called for service and we had to wait almost 3 weeks. By the time he came out the temperature inside was up to 72 degrees so we turned it off thinking it was in danger of fire. When we touched the wall dividing the freezer from the refrigerator it burned our hands. We borrowed a tiny refrigerator so save what meat and produce we could. To make a long story short we paid over $1,200 for repairs. The following week we had to call them back, then two weeks later we had to call them back again. Now we have the same exact problem that we had at the beginning, are out a very large sum of money, we are retired, still have an overheating refrigerator and freezer and have thrown away a lot of food because of this and again are waiting for a repair person. We don't know if our refrigerator needs to be hauled away or if it can be repaired. The repair person insists the loud noise is normal. It did not do it before so why do we hear it now??

My old GE Monogram had lights that would be hidden or dimmed when food was filling the fridge. These lights are out in front so that lighting is always great. Also, when the new fridge was installed, it cooled down so quickly that I could put my food away within 4 hours.

I bought this refrigerator as part of an upgraded appliance package for my new home. I've owned several different brands of refrigerators over the years, including a SubZero, but this is my favorite. Both the refrigerator and freezer have ample, well-organized storage space, and my produce is staying fresh longer than I would typically expect. The ice and water dispensers work well and don't shoot all over the kitchen (yes, several of my refrigerators have done that)! I like the textured finish on the handles - makes it easy to grip and open.

My wife HAD to have this model over to get the professional look. Although an initial skeptic, after 3 months I'm now seeing the value. It does look great in the kitchen and gets comments from guests. It is easy to clean and repels fingerprints. The water and ice dispense are perhaps the most functional and efficient I have used. No errant sprays or stray cubes shooting out. It's quiet and responsive to temperature adjustments. Not sure I could ask for anything more from a refrigerator that looks so good.

But this model is making terrible noise - Clunk Clunk Bang Bang, whenever I get the water. A serviceman came and said "It's normal. The Kitchenaid Co made it like that.". Unbelievable. I am sensitive to noise. How can I live with this freezer more then 15 years together?? If I knew this problem, I didn't buy this freezer. Even $100 sensor faucet doesn't make any noise, as you know.

Buiilt-In Frig a perfect fit

This new KitchenAid built-in replaced my 18-year-old KitchenAid perfectly. I was worried about having to redo the cabinetry, but it looks like KitchenAid retains the dimensions so it's easy to replace an old one with the new. The new model is very efficient and quiet. We especially like the newer ice and water delivery system.

Overly expensive and failing already

We bought this fridge in April of 2018 and within two months the water dispenser was failing. It started to not work 1 out of 10 times but now rarely works. It took two weeks to have Kitchenaid send someone out and then they said they needed to order a part which would take atleast a month and then we have to schedule them to come out again. On top of that, the bracket on the bottom (that keeps the fridge from swinging open too far) has fallen off several times. And whenever we close the fridge the freezer pops open a touch and vice versa (not a good seal). There are so many better fridge options and for $8000 this was a piece of junk.

Off the bat I'd admit that for 10 grand I feel like this fridge should have way more awesome perks than it does. Just the words coming out of my mind onto the keyboard makes me cringe--I can't believe a refrigerator can cost so much nor can I believe that we put up the cash to make such a ridiculous purchase. That said, it's a beautiful fridge. Built-in is just always best and looks nicest. It also gave us the amount of cubic feet we wanted without having our fridge stick out like a sore thumb (as it did in our previous home). My husband insisted on a fridge with a water dispenser in the door, and we felt like the 48" wide model was a little too wide, so that's why we chose this one. We've had no problems and nothing but good things to say beyond it's astronomical price tag. The fridge stays very cold, as does the freezer, and the ice bin is far larger than the previous fridge we owned had. It seems to have all the compartments one needs to keep all the fruits, veggies, deli meats/cheeses, etc. separated. One thing I am annoyed by is the drawer for deli meat or cheese or beverages etc--you could store any of those things in it and each has a specific temperature button you can select, but don't most people store their deli meat and cheese in the same location? Or maybe I'm alone in this? But so then I'm wondering which should I choose, the temperature for cheese or the temperature for meat? Not a life-altering question but bothersome nonetheless. We have three children and it has plenty of space for our family of 5. The freezer is a tad small but we expected that and we keep a deep freezer in our garage so it all works out (we also have a garage fridge in which we store waters, sodas, etc.). All in all we love it, but mostly because it's so pretty and functions correctly. As I said, for the price, it should do something amazing, like make me coffee or churn butter. Something.

We like the print shield finish and the LED lights. Would like the dispensers to be easier to push though. Like the ice dispenser being in the door since it provides more storage shelving.

Horrible refrigerator.

Horrible refrigerator. We've had unit for less than two months and the ice dispenser has never worked, told yesterday control board defective so ordering replacement. Today fridge won't stay cool - reading a steady 51 degrees (set to 36). Additionally one door panel projects about 1/2 inch out from other. All in all a major disappointment, not what you expect for $9000. Btw as i write this review I've been on hold for 35 minutes.

We had a GE Profile that quit working, The Kitchenaid price for value was the best. We did not have to step up to Thermador or Sub Zero because we couldn't see the reason to do so.
