We bought this in dec of 2025 and it does not seem consistent with the temperature in the top freezer ,one day the ice cream is frozen and the next day it would be soft

I purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot on 5-11-2024, and the experience has been very frustrating. After three deliveries with defects, I discovered issues with incorrect paperwork, including missing proof of purchase. Home Depot initially directed me to Whirlpool, and despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue™"including three technician visits (one from Home Depot and two from Whirlpool)™"the refrigerator still makes an unbearable noise.
My family and I have always trusted Whirlpool kitchen appliances throughout our lives, and we™™ve always been satisfied with their quality. However, this experience has been difficult, and the refrigerator seems poorly assembled, almost as if it were a used product, not something Whirlpool would manufacture. The noise continues even after the fan replacement, and I was told that it™™s ™normal,™ which is concerning.
I™™ve spent hours on the phone and written numerous messages, yet the issue remains unresolved. I understand that these things take time, but the constant noise has created a stressful environment in my home, especially as I am recovering from cancer and need a peaceful, quiet space to heal.
At this point, I kindly request a brand new refrigerator, as it seems this one may need to be reassembled or replaced entirely. I have always trusted Whirlpool, and I hope this can be resolved quickly so I can have the peace of mind I need for my health.

I would rate the refrigerator as adequate. Shelving space and layout is certainly not as good as my old refrigerator. There's no light in the freezing compartment. I view my purchase as a step backwards from the 22 year old refrigerator I replaced.

I've only had the unit for one week, but so far I am happy with my purchase. It's very quiet when running. My only small "complaints" are about the freezer compartment, i.e., no light and door shelves are too narrow so as to make them almost useless.

I am disappointed with this refrigerator. My last Whirlpool lasted 14 years and was a good product. I am limited in space and this model was the only one fitting my requirements.
I am still having trouble getting it leveled,
The ice maker isn™™t aligned properly and the ice packs up in the back corner. This frig is loud! It moans and groans like an old lady. The freezer has no light so is dark. And according to the brochure that can with it it should have a front grill below the door which it did nit come with it.

We bought this to replace our faithful 28-year-old, 30-in-wide Whirlpool of similar design, which finally died of old age. There™™s a lot to like in the new one. It is an attractive-looking unit. We really like the glass shelves and clear plastic pull-out bins, as they make it very easy to see the food. It is roomier than the old model, partly because it is a little taller and sticks out into the kitchen a couple of inches more, and also because the interior has been organized somewhat more effectively.
The door shelves have a good capacity, but with respect to the freezer-door shelves, we do not like the gap between the bottom of the shelf and the retaining bar. It is extremely annoying to open the door and have a pack of frozen hotdogs slip through the gap and thud loudly on the floor. We had to find and purchase a couple of long and narrow clear plastic bins that fit inside the shelves, to stop this problem
The pullout bins in the refrigerator section definitely do not seem as sturdy as my former ones. Only time will tell how well they hold up. I have only had this unit for six weeks.
It is rather noisy when the condenser is on. It appears that we will just have to live with that.
Some strips of metal around the door edges are simply crimped and glued in place, leaving unsightly crevices, some of which are dirt-catchers. When delivered, excess dried glue had not been removed. There are some gaps between the door seals and the doors™"also dirt catchers.
Overall, we are pleased. If not for the problems mentioned above, it would earn five stars.

Refrigerator froze and exploded our pops. Shortly after both the freezer and refrigerator portions became "cool" only. Had to replace this 4 year old refrigerator that is in our finished basement only for beverages. Apparently the entire cooling system needed to be replaced and was quoted over $1300 to do so. Obviously, we are opting to buy a new refrigerator and a different brand.

My old refrigerator (16 yrs old?) much better quality. Set new one on coldest setting, but it took 2 wks to cool down to midrange temp. Was at the top of acceptable temperature. Fan noise intermittent. I™™ m trying to record so when I call for repair they will have an idea what to look for. Refrigerator door self closes, but the freezer does not. My old one did. I changed the door handle, now every time I reach in I turn off the light with my arm! Film was difficult to get off, still have small pieces around the edges stuck between the framing. Plastic on door shelves seems cheap. The only positives are the glass shelves in the freezer and above the refrigerator crisper drawers. So disappointing.

Freezer does not stay cold

This is my second Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer. For my first refrigerator/freezer, the freezer would not stay cold (it's suppose to be 0 degrees and would regularly reach 20 degrees). After having a service man come and repair it multiple times over a period of 4 months, they replaced it. I am now having the same issue with the "new" one and the refrigerator would also get too cold.. When you're able to squeeze your ice cream container, it's not a good sign. Please do not buy it. BUT, I will say that their customer service department is very responsive.

Purchased this fridge about 4 years ago. Fast forward, fridge started to freeze foods in the fridge. We changed settings - did not help. Called a repair person because the fridge is out of warranty. The repair cost for this fridge is higher then buying a new one. Evaporator, thermistor, control assembly and low on freon!!! How can this happen to 4 years old fridge? The quality is low and now I have to buy a new fridge! I will never buy Whirlpool again and will not recommend this brand to anyone.

I™™ve had this fridge for a year. It works very well but it makes a rattling noise that I cannot accept. I™™ve had Whirlpool send a service person 3 times to fix it. The last time the rep said its a normal sound of the Freon going through a capillary tube. When I asked him why I only hear it intermittently as the compressor is running he said it™™s always there you just don™™t always hear it. Well I would like to ALWAYS not hear it.
In my several decades of life I have NEVER heard a refrigerator making this sound. I will contact Whirlpool again and see if I can get this resolved.

I wanted a basic fridge/freezer without the bells and whistles of many appliances today. This appliance is exactly that.
I had to call for maintenance to come out within a day of having the fridge/freezer, and had to wait a week for him to come out due to my work schedule. Turns out that the gasket was not sealing, allowing warm air in, causing the freezer to frost heavily and the fridge to keep things only lukewarm.
The repair man was knowledgeable and efficient, used heat on the gasket so it would seal.
I would have obviously preferred the men who installed it to have noticed and fixed the issue right away.

We purchased this refrigerator in November 2022. We had it delivered in April 2023 because of a tree falling on our house in July 2022. It is making very strange noises. It sounds like something is taking off and then stops. Sometimes when we get ice cream out of the freezer it is soft or has thawed and then has refrozen.
